Doing a photoshoot can feel a bit daunting, especially if you’ve never been in front of the camera before. Here are a few easy tips to help you feel prepared and confident at your studio photoshoot.

1) Wear What Feels Like You

Choose something that feels comfortable and makes you feel confident. When you feel good, it shows in your photos. Avoid anything that’s stiff or uncomfortable, and go for colors and styles that reflect your personality.

2) Prepare your look beforehand

I notice every little detail on camera, so keeping things fresh is key! Make sure your hair is neat, your clothes are ironed, your nails are clean, and your makeup is well done. Avoid shiny or oily cosmetics right before the shoot, as matte skin tends to look better on camera. It’s also a great idea to do a test run with your entire outfit to make sure everything works well together. Double-check that your undergarments don’t show through, wear a strapless bra or nude-colored underwear for the best results. This careful preparation also speeds up the editing process, so you’ll get your photos back sooner.

3) Practice Your Poses

I’ll guide you through poses during the shoot, but it never hurts to practice a little in front of a mirror or with your selfie camera beforehand. Find the angles and expressions that feel natural and flattering to you. If you have a favorite pose or angle, be sure to tell me, I’ll make sure to include it in your photoshoot. Pinterest is a fantastic place to find posing inspiration, and you can even create a board to collect ideas and share it with me during the session!

4) Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Rest is underrated. Being tired can show in your eyes and skin, and we definitely want to avoid puffy eyes or dark circles. Photoshoots often involve a lot of movement, so having a bit of extra energy will make a big difference. So, treat yourself to some extra hours before your shoot day.

5) Talk to Me!

Communication is everything. I’m always happy to answer your questions or offer advice. Let me know what you want, what you’re nervous about, or anything you’d like to highlight or avoid. This shoot is all about you. Feel free to bring any inspiration for poses you have in mind. (Please discuss props and themes beforehand, not on the day, so there’s enough time to prepare.)

6) Pack a Emergency Kit

Bring a small bag with some essentials: snacks, accessories , and any makeup touch-ups you might need. Staying hydrated and energized helps keep your energy up and your photos will reflect the best version of you. 7) Have fun! The best photos come when you’re relaxed and enjoying yourself. Don’t be afraid to laugh, be silly, and let your personality shine through. ————————————————— Sounds like fun right? Getting to express yourself creatively with no boundaries.
